Berry Chia Jam
Chia is an awesome staple in your diet. Chia seeds have everything your body loves – super high levels of calcium, protein and omega 3. They are also an adaptogen where they assist in escorting toxins out of your body. There is nothing I love more then when taste and nutrition meet ..introducing Berry Chia Jam!
Ingredients
- 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
- 2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries
- 3-4 tbspns sweetener of choice.. raw honey, rice malt syrup OR pure maple syrup
- 2 tbspns tbspns chia seeds
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- Blitz the berries and sweetener in a blender
- Transfer berry mix into a saucepan over high heat until the mix starts to bubble then, simmer over medium to low heat, stirring frequently for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Add chia seeds, combining well and, continue stirring for approximately 5 minutes.
- Remove saucepan from heat and add in vanilla.
