Kale chip anyone?  Coconut water?  Almond mlyk? A Wheatgrass shot with that?

Is it just me or do you notice these items more readily available in cafes, restaurants and grocery stores?  Heck, I got raw vegan cheesecake from my local service station the other day?!

There is a shift occurring.

We are moving away from the traditional food pyramid (you know the 5 food groups with a base of Breads & Cereals, Meat and Dairy with Sugar & Fats on top) toward another way of eating.

A way of eating that ensures optimum nutrition with more nutritional bang for your buck .  This new food paradigm is incredibly effective at fuelling our bodies, in-fact, eating in this way feeds the body at a cellular level giving it optimum nutrition which results in more energy, more beauty, more joy.

Green leafy plants are the super stars in this way of eating with Fruit and Vegetables featuring predominantly.  Sprouts and Legumes are also regulars in this set up as with Whole grains, Nuts & Seeds, Herbs and even medicinal foods like Seaweed and Nutritional Yeast playing an important part.  Also, grass fed organic animal product (if you choose to eat meat).

Effectively, the pyramid is refined to guarantee the body is alkaline, has clear arteries, pure blood and is disease free.  Sophisticated indeed!

..but what about dairy?  What about calcium intake?

We now know that dairy products, although an excellent source of calcium also are very acid and mucus forming in the body not to mention most milk, yoghurt and cheese on the supermarket shelves are full of anti-biotics and hormones – great if you want a bod with chemicals and toxins in it?! ..ummm, no thank you!
